The festival got two long-necked mascots
Langeland Festival has for many years been known as the festival with a giraffes theme. We were contacted at Bamsefabrikken by the people behind Langeland festival and asked to develop a mascot, or rather two mascots. The only requirement was, of course, that the mascot had to be a giraffe.

Our skilled illustrator worked with a series of sketches based on the assignment description made with Langeland Festival. The character was adjusted, detailed and colored, and finally we had a very vivid image of the mascot and its personality.

Then the manufacturing of the tall mascot costumes was initiated based on illustrations. The biggest challenge with the giraffe costumes were the long necks, which can make the mascot's head very heavy to handle for the person who appears in the costume.

The final giraffe costumes were delivered as intended and in time before the festival. Have you attended the Langeland Festival, you have certainly met the two giraffes, which play a major part at the festival site. They arrive, usually in a large giraffe limousine and act with the star quality they rightfully have. But the mascots are not too fancy to make fun with the kids.

Langeland Festival is known for being a family and children's festival and it was therefore important that the mascots could really appeal to children and make their participation in the festival a positive and unique experience.

The mascots are now a completely incorporated and indispensable part of Langeland Festival, and at the festival you can also buy a range of merchandise with giraffe theme, for example, rubber boots and t-shirts that support the mascot concept and make the mascots known in the rest of the community when festival guests bring things home and bring them to use.
